World-class environmental practices.

The era of rampant mass production and mass consumption is coming to an end. More and more people are now questioning the true meaning of abundance. Climate change has accelerated. Industrial waste is piling up rapidly. Endocrine disrupters are everywhere. People around the world have started taking action to protect our global Environment—to make wise use of the natural resources that we have been relentlessly consuming in a race for ever-more production. Today, companies understand that it is their responsibility not only to consider quality, functionality, and usefulness, but also the impact that their products have on our Environments. Many are eliminating the use of toxic
substances, and putting recycling systems in place as a means of complying with local recycling laws.
At Eikou Bussan, we take pride in being at the forefront of this important movement, bringing all of our cutting-edge technology to bear for the sake of Environmental preservation. At heart of our business operations lies the conviction that consumers and the Environment can and should live in balance and harmony.

Superior quality

Because we make plastic compounds, Eikou Bussan takes an uncompromising approach to the raw materials used to manufacture its products. Our goal is to offer top-of-the-line products that deliver consistent, reliable quality over the long term. As proof of our commitment, we worked successfully to receive ISO 9001 certification in 2003.
We have also set up identical quality management systems at every one of our overseas locations by introducing Eikou Bussan quality manual of mandatory guidelines. By holding every piece of production and testing equipment to the same rigorous standards, we can ensure uniform production technology and identical product quality at every one of our global manufacturing facilities.
One of the ways we ensure that production control, quality management, and other organizational activities go smoothly is by implementing the PDCA cycle. PDCA, which stands for “Plan, Do, Check, Act” is a four-stage process that is repeated over and over to create a permanent cycle of ongoing improvement in our business operations.

We are thoroughly committed to protecting the Environment and building a sustainable society. As part of this commitment, we have successfully worked to obtain certification under the Green Partner Environmental Quality Approval Program. Suppliers are called “Green Partners” when they manufacture products in an Environmentally conscious way and work to strengthen their Environmental initiatives. Eikou Bussan* received its Green Partner certification in 2003.

【About Green Partners】 As part of its Environmental management initiatives, Sony Corporation began inspecting its suppliers to see if they met the Company’s Environmental standards. Those that did were certified as Green Partners. Eventually, Sony Corporation as well as the entire Sony Group decided that they would only procure materials from suppliers who had received this designation.
